About the Role:

We are searching for a caring and dedicated Behavioral Health Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a vital role in providing direct support to patients with mental health and behavioral conditions. You will work collaboratively with mental health professionals to implement treatment plans, ensure patient safety, and create a positive and therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the admission and discharge process for patients.
• Monitor and document patient behavior, including mood, affect, and potential risk factors.
• Implement treatment plans as directed by mental health professionals, which may include individual or group therapy activities.
• Provide emotional support and de-escalation techniques for patients in crisis situations.
• Assist patients with daily living activities as needed, such as medication management, hygiene, and meals (depending on the setting).
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
• Document all interactions and observations in patient charts according to HIPAA regulations.
• Collaborate effectively with mental health professionals, nurses, and other healthcare providers.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay up-to-date on best practices and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

• A High school diploma or equivalent, an associate's degree in a related field may be preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or other relevant healthcare certification (a plus, but not always required).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a patient care setting.
• Strong compassion and empathy for individuals with mental health challenges.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Proactive, positive, and patient demeanor.
• Ability to handle physically demanding situations and maintain composure in stressful environments.

Pay: $18.00 - $21.60 per hour
