Mental Health Technician observes and assists assigned mental health patients and helps with daily living activities, therapeutic activities, and socialization. Responsible for the overall maintenance of a therapeutic environment in the psychiatric unit and to ensure the safety of patents and staff. Being a Mental Health Technician attends and participates in group therapy, in-service education, and staff meetings. Records information about patients including vital signs, weight, and demeanor. Additionally, Mental Health Technician may communicate with patients family as needed. Typically requires an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a registered nurse (rn) or other supervisor. The Mental Health Technician works under moderate supervision. Maintenance Technician

  • Reports to: Facilities Manager
    The Maintenance Technician is in charge of providing routine maintenance to the physical properties owned or leased by the agency, including the residential properties managed by the agency.
    Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Complete repairs to SLMH’s owned and leased buildings, including the residential cottages, as directed by the Facilities Manager.
    • Perform routine maintenance on SLMH’s properties.
    • Assist with the assembly/setup of office equipment and furniture.
    • Ensure that the exterior of SLMH’s main building and parking lots remains free of trash and debris, including emptying outdoor trash receptacles and occasional weeding/trimming large bushes and other vegetation.
    • As requested, complete minor construction projects such as constructing sheds or installing cabinets.
    • Purchase supplies, materials, and equipment necessary for the completion of assigned projects.
    • As requested, complete necessary documentation related to maintenance projects, such as taking photos of repairs done to residential cottages connected to grant requirements.
    • Respond to and resolve work orders in a timely and efficient manner
    • Ensure that all work performed meets safety, quality, and regulatory standards
    • Communicate with supervisor and other staff members to coordinate work and ensure that all work is completed as scheduled
    • Identify and report needs for major repairs such as roofing, parking lots, outdoor maintenance, and etc.
    • Performing general maintenance tasks including landscaping, painting, and carpentry.
    • Maintaining the inventory records for equipment and supplies.
    • Inspecting buildings, equipment, and systems to identify any issues.
    • Additional duties as requested.
    Qualifications:
    Education and Experience:
    • At least 1 year of experience in maintenance or construction trades.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license and insurance
    Skills and Knowledge:
    • Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
    • Experience using hand and electrical tools.
    • Ability to read technical manuals and drawings.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures.
    Working conditions and physical requirements:
    • This is a role that requires manual labor. The employee is continually required to walk, sit, stand, bend, lift, climbing, and move. Is subject to lifting up to 50 pounds.
    • Travel between office locations and to purchase bulky and/or heavy supplies required.
