Mental Health Technician observes and assists assigned mental health patients and helps with daily living activities, therapeutic activities, and socialization. Responsible for the overall maintenance of a therapeutic environment in the psychiatric unit and to ensure the safety of patents and staff. Being a Mental Health Technician attends and participates in group therapy, in-service education, and staff meetings. Records information about patients including vital signs, weight, and demeanor. Additionally, Mental Health Technician may communicate with patients family as needed. Typically requires an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a registered nurse (rn) or other supervisor. The Mental Health Technician works under moderate supervision. St. Luke’s Health System in Twin Falls is seeking a Mental Health Therapist to join our team.
At St. Luke’s, we recognize the need for our clinicians to have the training and support required to address the difficulties of working in rural Idaho. Our Behavioral Health Clinic has built a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including psychologists, psychiatrists, and other advanced practice providers to assist in addressing the difficulty of working with limited community resources and increasing acute patient population. Mental Health Therapists hired at St. Luke’s will develop advanced practice skills as Feedback Informed Treatment providers. They will also obtain training in and have access to a variety of treatment programs, including fidelity Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Parent Child Interaction Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia, and Exposure Response Prevention for OCD.
