Mental Health Technician observes and assists assigned mental health patients and helps with daily living activities, therapeutic activities, and socialization. Responsible for the overall maintenance of a therapeutic environment in the psychiatric unit and to ensure the safety of patents and staff. Being a Mental Health Technician attends and participates in group therapy, in-service education, and staff meetings. Records information about patients including vital signs, weight, and demeanor. Additionally, Mental Health Technician may communicate with patients family as needed. Typically requires an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a registered nurse (rn) or other supervisor. The Mental Health Technician works under moderate supervision. The region’s leading network of healthcare providers, Inspira Health is seeking part-time Mental Health Technicians to provide physical care and emotional support to patients, while maintaining a safe, clean and therapeutic environment. We’ll also rely on you for clerical and communication functions. Multiple positions and shifts available in the voluntary adult mental health unit, mental health unit, child/adolescent mental health unit and intermediate child/adolescent unit.
Qualifications:
· High School diploma or GED; Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred
· Experience in behavioral health; 1 years of previous experience in inpatient behavioral health setting preferred
· CPR and CPI certifications
