Mental Health Technician observes and assists assigned mental health patients and helps with daily living activities, therapeutic activities, and socialization. Responsible for the overall maintenance of a therapeutic environment in the psychiatric unit and to ensure the safety of patents and staff. Being a Mental Health Technician attends and participates in group therapy, in-service education, and staff meetings. Records information about patients including vital signs, weight, and demeanor. Additionally, Mental Health Technician may communicate with patients family as needed. Typically requires an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a registered nurse (rn) or other supervisor. The Mental Health Technician works under moderate supervision. Pay Rate:
$16-$18 per hour depending on education and experience
Weekday Differentials of $1.00 for evening and overnight
Weekend Differentials of $1.50 for evening and overnight
Education Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) from an accredited high school
Licensure/Certification:
Valid driver’s license and auto insurance
Experience Requirements:
One-three months related experience and/or training working with adults or children in a behavioral health care or similar environment.
The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) for Camber Children’s Mental Health provides compassionate care and supervision of children and youth. As a BHT you will provide support to help young people achieve their treatment goals through daily activities, teach them coping techniques and positive behavior skills. You can expect to work closely with nurses and therapist in reinforcing treatment plans, documenting client activity, and maintaining a safe environment. We are currently hiring for full-time day, evening and overnight positions with two consecutive days off per week. If willing to work both Saturday and Sunday, we will provide the option of three consecutive days off.
