Purpose:
The Merchandise Assistant works as part of a Product Team including a Buyer and a Planner to ensure that a strategic approach to purchasing quality in-demand goods to sell in our various showrooms. The Merchandise Assistant is responsible for providing assistance to the Buyer on various items including the selection of items and accurate record keeping for all items ordered.
General Description of duties:
- Assist Buyer with various duties to support the merchandising organization
- Work with the service department on charge backs and service issues for specific vendors
- Maintain and request artwork for advertising/war room templates
- Process and follow-up on all pricing changes, including the creation of promotional sort codes
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor lists
- Attend meetings and run specialized reports as required
- Responsible for the Advertising Turn-In Sheet, to ensure all information is accurate for Ads
- Responsible for the IT Promotion Code coordination
- Creates and manages ISTs in conjunction with the Store Operations Team to ensure floor changes and new product moves are completed correctly
- Prepares pricing and ads for Director approval
- Maintain all sku information with accuracy
- Collect all necessary product information for purchase orders and war room templates from vendors
- Builds purchase orders/ SKU generation for Logistics
- Review email requests to stores and follow-up as needed
- Develop and distribute sales aids to stores
- Manage merchandise movement from various store locations (Inter-Store Transfer
- Manage BERT vendors page
Qualifications:
- Manage multiple, on-going, and high priority assignments at the same time
- Works as part of a collaborative team and works independently to accomplish given responsibilities
- Ability to travel to different company showrooms
Special Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency with Microsoft office and Excel required
- Associates or Bachelor’s in related field preferred
- Experience in a retail environment preferred
