Merchandise Buyer Assistant assists merchandise buyers in selecting merchandise, placing orders, and distributing inventory. May be responsible for some inventory replenishment but without open-to-buy responsibilities. Being a Merchandise Buyer Assistant may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor. To be a Merchandise Buyer Assistant typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. It is a part-time job with a bit of flexibility in timings (15-25 hours a week)
Employee will be expected to:
- Work with overseas (Asian) and domestic manufacturers/vendors
- Analyze product requirements and place orders (PO issuance)
- Coordinate procurement & supply-chain logistics
- Identify issues and work with vendors, sales team and ensure product flow
- Maintain the MAS system for purchasing, inventory, item maintenance, sales history and forecasting
Qualifications:
- 2 years Purchase Analyst experience preferred
- Ability to multitask
- Advanced knowledge of MS word and Excel
Salary will be commensurable on experience
