Merchandise Buyer selects merchandise for order, places order, and stays involved in inventory distribution. Reviews success of previous orders to determine extent to which inventory should be replenished. Being a Merchandise Buyer researches new trends or advances in product lines to make appropriate buying decisions. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Additionally, Merchandise Buyer typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be a Merchandise Buyer typically requires 4 to 7 years of related experience. Qualifications:- Knowledgeable about current teen and young adult fashion trends and brands
- Can handle a fast-paced, high volume environment
- Energetic, with well developed organizational and multitasking abilities
- Strong communication skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Desire to have a career and grow with the company
- Must be available some evenings and weekends
Responsibilities:- Select and price gently-used styles for our customers
- Merchandise clothing
- Provide excellent customer service
- Work with the store manager to keep the sales floor organized
- Operate registers and ringing out transactions
