Key position functions include:

• Responsible for coordinating the procurement of a limited scope of goods in support of Stream-Flo's business divisions.
• Work includes aspects of vendor qualification, requests for quotation and purchase to payment.
• Serves as primary point of contact for coordinating purchasing of goods
• Coordinates with end user to verify requirements
• Confers with vendors to obtain product information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
• Edits purchase requests and prepares purchase orders.
• Determines lowest total cost solution
• Develops, maintains manages purchase orders for goods in support of the division and location
• Performs expediting as required to assure purchase order delivery schedule is met and suppliers are meeting contractual criteria
• Manages supplier performance for purchased products ensuring all aspects of the purchase to payment process are maintained in a timely and cost-effective manner
• Measures and monitors compliance to National Purchase Agreements and documents results.
• Provides support to the supplier audit processes for selected suppliers and contractors
• Keeps abreast of relevant knowledge of supply base to assure market competitiveness
• Helps in sourcing vendors and negotiating prices. Prepares purchase recommendation for approval
• Works under immediate supervision
• Other duties as assigned

Preferred candidate will possess a combination of the following:

• College degree required with two years or more years of industry experience preferred
• Prior purchasing experience (operations support role)
• Clearly understand how equipment flows from branch to rig site and time requirements
• Product and industry standards knowledge (valve/wellhead, API, ISO)
• Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative and be responsive to needs of end users
• Strong Verbal and written communications including negotiation and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with computers and Microsoft applications
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• A commitment to workplace health and safety
• This position will require the candidate to respond timely to the internal customer’s request ensuring the end customer is supported as required. The fast pace of the USA surface business environment and uptime requirements can result in challenging client situations.
• This role will involve significant time using a computer, spreadsheets, while performing detailed analysis in an office environment. The role will have extended periods of sitting and computer usage.
• The Buyer will be occasionally required to visit suppliers’ premises and must be able to remain attentive, calm and focused when under pressure. Attention to detail while working on several tasks is essential.
