Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Buyer to join our team. As a Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, products, and services to meet the company's operational needs. Your role will involve collaborating with suppliers, managing contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of goods.
Duties:
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their products and services
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure the best pricing, quality, and delivery terms
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable terms
- Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to ensure adequate supply of materials and products
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and provide guidance on procurement processes
- Review purchase requisitions and create purchase orders in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Track orders and coordinate delivery schedules to ensure on-time delivery of goods
- Resolve any issues or discrepancies with suppliers regarding quality, quantity, or delivery of goods
- Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations to assess their compliance with contractual obligations
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements related to procurement
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role
- Strong knowledge of procurement management principles and practices
- Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) is preferred
- Proficiency in using procurement systems and software
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms and pricing from suppliers
- Solid understanding of supply chain management concepts
- Ability to analyze data, perform root cause analysis, and make data-driven decisions
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal stakeholders and suppliers
