The Merchandise Planner/Buyer is responsible for monitoring and maintaining appropriate merchandise plans and inventory levels to support the overall business. Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the assortment plan of purchased products for key accounts to deliver financial targets of the business.
• Taking ownership of product assortment plans -- creating monthly and seasonal product plans that map out the replacement of existing products with new products to maximize the business while considering inventory on hand and on order as well as underperforming items.
• Creating and maintaining planograms for key accounts that maximize space, productivity, and visual appeal.
• Developing, maintaining and analyzing inventory and sales reports using PowerBI and Excel.
• Analyzing reports and data to identify trends and opportunities in the business.
• Collaborating with sales and product development teams to make recommendations for re-orders and new development based on sales and trends to meet overall sales and inventory goals.
• Setting up new items in the system.
• Writing purchase orders.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years in a merchandise, planning, and/or buying role in a consumer goods company
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business or similar field (or equivalent work experience in planning/buying)
• Must possess strong math and computer skills and have strong analytical skills
• Should be able to identify trends, patterns, and root causes based on data
• Must be detail oriented and able and willing to learn
• Able to multi-task on tight timelines; manage time and commit to deadlines.
• Knowledge of retail terminology and common retail formulas/equations a plus.

This position is hybrid -- our office is in Lansdale, PA  but employees may work halftime remote at home.
