Merchandise Buyer, Sr. selects merchandise for order, places order, and stays involved in inventory distribution. Reviews success of previous orders to determine extent to which inventory should be replenished. Being a Merchandise Buyer, Sr. researches new trends or advances in product lines to make appropriate buying decisions. Functions as a decision maker with orders of a larger and more complex scope. Additionally, Merchandise Buyer, Sr. may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be a Merchandise Buyer, Sr. typically requires 7+ years of related experience. A specialist on complex technical and business matters. Work is highly independent.
