Merchandise Planner - Deli develops strategies and techniques to increase sales of deli meats and other products. Analyzes department profits and profit margins of individual items. Being a Merchandise Planner - Deli controls ordering, inventory, and quality of deli products. Responsible for increasing business with new and existing customers. Additionally, Merchandise Planner - Deli may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be a Merchandise Planner - Deli typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Job duties include but not limited too helping close/clean the department at the end of each day. Needs to be able to life/move heavy equipment if necessary. Preferably able to work late nights if at all possible. Standing on feet for a 6 hours every shift.
