Job Title: Produce Teammate
Description: To deliver a great guest experience while pricing, stocking, and rotating merchandise in the Produce Department.
Task of the Job - This job generally includes:
Mobility:
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and 75 pounds occasionally
Ability to perform the following movements repeatedly and for long periods of time
Walking, standing, stooping, bending, reaching, and squatting.
Frequent use of hands to reach.
Work on tile or concrete for duration of shift.
Lift a maximum of 100 lbs. onto overhead, cooler, or freezer storage rack.
Move cardboard into baler. (Must be 18)
Use both hands to attain merchandise or cases on the top shelf of cooler and freezer storage shelves.
Reach forward, down, and up with both hands to attain merchandise on stocking cart or pallets, clean shelves, and floor, and to place items on shelves, displays, and cases.
Reach up to full extension of arms to place signs, banners, and light bulbs in place.
Grasp and handle wet, iced, cold, metal, paper, plastic products.
Twist at the waist while cleaning, cutting, opening, sorting, load, unloading, moving, removing merchandise and stocking merchandise.
Move stocking carts, pallet jacks (up to 500 lbs.) and maintenance equipment using the proper equipment.
Move display fixtures and product preparation equipment.
Balance on wet, slick, and dirty floors.
Perceive color difference of product and product labels and product condition.
Recognize cleaning, maintenance equipment, pallet jacks, baler and produce department preparation equipment controls.
Respond to the sound of case cutter, department production equipment, baler, pallet jack, cleaning equipment operation "noises", and intercom and phone.
Read case labels, strips, signs, tags, shelf signs, code dates, invoices, temperature gauges, reports, and numbers and aisle markers, equipment, and chemical warning labels
Work Environment:
Inside work with extreme variations in temperature, dust and humidity from back door, compressors, cooler, and preparation area.
Qualifications:
Required
Basic mathematical ability (add, subtract, multiply, divide, and count)
Ability to make good judgement and proper decision making.
Able to give, receive complex verbal instructions, descriptions to, from supervisors or teammates, concerning store, department policy, procedures, and use of equipment.
Make judgments concerning the placement of merchandise on the case, shelf, display, case opening procedures, extent of unsalable product damage, conversation with guests, selling of product, display of product, use of packaging materials for product, quality of product for display and ordering of merchandise.
Good interpersonal communications.
Preferred
High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience in a related type of job.
A stable work and educational history.
