Merchandising Manager manages merchandising operations and develops and executes merchandising plans to deliver volume and profit goals. Develops effective merchandising plans for categories and locations, utilizing data representing customer insights, consumer trends, buying patterns, sales and inventory metrics, forecasting, and competitive landscape. Being a Merchandising Manager collaborate with marketing, finance, and buying to Identify new suppliers and products that reflect consumer preferences and drive sales. Coaches and mentors merchandising staff to produce product assortments that reflect branding, buying trends and support seasonal customer demand. Additionally, Merchandising Manager typically requires a bachelor's degree in marketing, merchandising, business or other related field. Typically reports to a director. The Merchandising Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions.
