Merchandising Manager manages merchandising operations and develops and executes merchandising plans to deliver volume and profit goals. Develops effective merchandising plans for categories and locations, utilizing data representing customer insights, consumer trends, buying patterns, sales and inventory metrics, forecasting, and competitive landscape. Being a Merchandising Manager collaborate with marketing, finance, and buying to Identify new suppliers and products that reflect consumer preferences and drive sales. Coaches and mentors merchandising staff to produce product assortments that reflect branding, buying trends and support seasonal customer demand. Additionally, Merchandising Manager typically requires a bachelor's degree in marketing, merchandising, business or other related field. Typically reports to a director. The Merchandising Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Merchandising Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. The Merchandising Manager is responsible for the recruitment, training, and development of all Merchandisers.Primary Responsibilities:- Manage the selection, development, motivation, and retention of staff.
- Develop the daily routing schedule for teams.
- Monitor GPS usage and analyze data as available.
- Work in the field to ensure the proper level of service is provided.
- Receive, investigate and resolve internal and external customer complaints and requests.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for employee development and performance improvement requirements.
- Responsible for point of sale facility and equipment.
- Ensure OSHA compliance as it relates to equipment and personnel.
- Provide brand-specific product education and training tools to enhance the knowledge/performance of staff.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial control processes.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Additional Primary Responsibilities:Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three years of experience in retail management, beverage industry, or similar field.
- Must possess a reliable vehicle, a valid drivers license, and the ability to obtain and maintain auto liability insurance by State laws.
Physical Demands:- Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time may include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or mobile device.
- Physical demands with activity or condition may include walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping.
- Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include driving throughout the day with segments up to 2 hours.
- May require lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 56lbs.
