Merchandising Manager manages merchandising operations and develops and executes merchandising plans to deliver volume and profit goals. Develops effective merchandising plans for categories and locations, utilizing data representing customer insights, consumer trends, buying patterns, sales and inventory metrics, forecasting, and competitive landscape. Being a Merchandising Manager collaborate with marketing, finance, and buying to Identify new suppliers and products that reflect consumer preferences and drive sales. Coaches and mentors merchandising staff to produce product assortments that reflect branding, buying trends and support seasonal customer demand. Additionally, Merchandising Manager typically requires a bachelor's degree in marketing, merchandising, business or other related field. Typically reports to a director. The Merchandising Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Merchandising Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     What's the opportunity?

    The Logistics Manager will develop a thorough understanding of and manage resources to support client(s) transportation strategies. This position will also be called on to manage key internal and client logistics improvement initiatives. This position will be located in Kenosha, WI and may require some travel to our Morton Grove, IL office.

    Primary Responsibilities Include:

    • Manage direct staff and the performance of the department in the day to day IMS client domestic and international outbound freight network
    • Provide International logistic support for inbound transportation moves with Asia, South America and Europe
    • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to ensure steady progress is made in our managed and facilitated transportation network
    • Provide direction for improving business and technology processes in direct support of optimization strategies and work within established guidelines for implementing client/internal agreed upon changes
    • Interact with and provide support for other internal teams (e.g., Account Management, Finance, etc.) to ensure business and/or processes are being served appropriately in order to meet key metrics
    • Provide support as needed to all North American facilities for large scale deployments, initiatives, and the rollout of new service offerings
    • Interview, hire and maintain appropriate staffing levels. Provide for development and training activities for assigned staff, encouraging continuous learning and performance improvement. Ensure timely and accurate performance feedback is received on a regular basis

    The skills and experience you have

    The ideal candidate will have 7 years of logistics/supply chain experience with a proven history of career progression. Experience at a 3PL provider, Freight Forwarder or Broker preferred. Transportation Management Systems expertise is a plus. Excellent communication skills are needed as this position will have frequent contact with senior executives internally and externally. Other critical skills to the success of this position include superior problem solving capabilities, strong customer relations skills, the ability to manage multiple projects from multiple locations, the ability to work independently and the ability to successfully lead a diverse team.
