Merchant Card Customer Service Representative provides merchant bank card services to existing and new clients and acts as contact point for all merchant inquires. Responds to questions, researches and troubleshoots issues, processes billing and adjustment transactions. Being a Merchant Card Customer Service Representative assists with the set up and maintenance of services and processing systems including supplies and advertising collateral. Communicates new service offerings or changes to the clients. Additionally, Merchant Card Customer Service Representative may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Merchant Card Customer Service Representative gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Works under moderate supervision. To be a Merchant Card Customer Service Representative typically requires 1-3 years of related experience or may have 0 years of experience with additional training, or certification.     Overview

    As an extension of our customer's office, the Operator role is one of the most important at Customer Elation. Every interaction is an opportunity to carry out our mission of treating callers the way you want to be treated – they do not call it the Golden Rule for nothing!

    Our Accountabilities

    • Adhere to Customer Elations call-handling expectations, limiting personal bias while answering calls professionally in your own tone.
    • Create exceptional caller experiences that deliver meaningful connections with customers and callers.
    • Maintain accuracy, mindfulness, and strong attention to detail in written communication. Cross "T's" and dot "I's," use proper spelling, grammar, and logical message composition. Communicate professionally and with personality.
    • Multi-task in a fast-paced, technology-rich environment. Toggle between screens and applications simultaneously.
    • Precisely and consistently follow call-handling instructions on every call. Provide detailed, accurate notes and messages from callers, and take ownership of mistakes when they happen.

    Working conditions

    Normally work takes place in an open office, call center environment with a diverse employee population. This is a coverage position that requires the ability to work a predictable and consistent schedule. It requires the ability to sit/stand and work at a computer for extended periods of time, using finger/hand dexterity to manipulate a keyboard/mouse in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. It requires the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse audience in person, by phone, and by computer. Applicants must be 17 years of age or older to apply.

    We are currently seeking full-time and part-time positions for evenings and weekends. Other shift times may be available after training and with experience and tenure.
