Merchant Card Sales Manager manages and directs a sales force to achieve sales and profit goals within a region. Designs and recommends sales programs for the merchant card department and sets short and long-term sales strategies. Being a Merchant Card Sales Manager evaluates and implements appropriate new card sales techniques to increase the region's sales volume. May recommend product or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential. Additionally, Merchant Card Sales Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Merchant Card Sales Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Merchant Card Sales Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Product Merchant
The Product Merchant will serve as a key member of the Family Farm & Home merchandising team and will be responsible for ownership of an assigned category of business. Leading the strategic direction and execution of all core merchandising functions including assortment, pricing, customer experience, marketing, inventory planning, and vendor partnership. An opportunity to work in a fast paced and innovative environment while leading cross functional retail initiatives across Family Farm & Home’s 70 retail locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Promote Family Farm & Home mission statement and family values.
- Responsible for all key metrics of an assigned category of business, including but not limited to Sales, Margin, Inventory, and Return on Investment.
- Gain a detailed knowledge of the industry and competition to ensure that Family Farm & Home is positioned as the retailer of choice for the targeted customer demographics.
- Lead the development of balanced assortments focused on the lifestyle needs of the Family Farm & Home Customer.
- Strategically manage pricing with a focus on maximizing profitability and providing value for the Family Farm & Home Customer.
- Develop a best in class customer experience through in-store merchandising and website content management.
- Develop advertising plans that drive profitable sales while utilizing all marketing channels.
- Drive costs out of the business through a commitment to vendor negotiation and strategic purchasing.
- Partner with the inventory team to maximize return on investment through strategic inventory management.
- Work cross functionally with key internal partners to manage timelines and move merchandising projects forward.
- Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent retail experience required.
- 3-5 years of experience in a retail inventory or merchandising role.
- 5 years of experience in the retail industry.
- Enthusiasm, Initiative and passion for retail.
- Confidence in negotiation, networking, and building relationships.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask and stay organized.
- Office computer skills; able to learn company systems and tools, preference for Microsoft application experience.
