About the Role:

The Commodity Merchant position at Kalmbach Feeds is an engaging position that allows an individual to have a real impact on the company’s bottom line. The position is in the corporate office and involves interface between Nutrition, Sales, Marketing, Purchasing and Production.  A qualified candidate will have procurement, supply chain, and merchandising skills. The selected individual will have the unique opportunity of identifying new suppliers and sources based upon market needs and opportunities that arise. Agricultural markets change every day, and the individual will need to strategically reposition themselves in response to those market changes. Managing and maintaining supplier relationships and responding to customers’ needs will be essential tasks.

Who you are:

• Team oriented to support procurement, nutrition, and sales in sourcing product. 
• High level of detail to accurately process documents and contracts related to the purchase and sale of commodities.
• Experience in, or ability to learn about the futures markets. 
• Self-motivated to drive merchandising of various commodities and take positions.
• Well organized for scheduling deliveries and managing inventory levels
