  • Job Description:
    • Develop an effective county wide prevention system of collaboration
      • Supervise WHS Prevention Coordinator and program staff, including class facilitators. Being a resource to other Weber County Coalitions. Utilize classes to increase awareness of risk and protective factors across multiple systems of care.
      • Supervise Regional Director from the State who is housed at WHS.
      • Build relationships with countywide agencies (Weber and Morgan), businesses, hospitals (community benefit), elected officials, etc.
      • Promote an efficient prevention system
      • Establish annual Weber County Prevention Conference
      • Direct stakeholders on an effective prevention structure with adherence to CTC model
      • Coordinate effective collaboration
      • Ensure coalitions and prevention work is visible to leaders across the LSAA
        • Examples include Health Department Director/board of health, WHS director/board, County Commissioners, State representatives and senators, School Boards, etc.
    • Drive support from countywide agencies, businesses, elected officials of local coalitions.

    • Work closely with the COE on connecting non-traditional avenues with prevention services and vice versa
      • Leverage IGP resources for prevention.
    • Work closely with WHS Prevention Coordinator, Regional Prevention Director, and other CTC coordinators supervisors to provide workforce development. Strengthen CTC memberships by recruiting community and government leaders to become involved
    • Develop funding support for WHS prevention system/local coalitions
      • Support and promote increasing prevention funding within WHS current budget
      • Find and write grant opportunities for WHS Prevention/local coalitions
      • Work with state legislators on funding prevention
      • Work with county leaders on funding opportunities for prevention
      • Develop contacts, nurture relationships and find champions to strengthen coalition memberships. Linking them to orientation and to coalition coordinators
      • Coordinate (possible) pay for success model in WHS area
    • Drive effective SUD policy change
      • Develop relationships with local and state policy makers
      • Become familiar with LSAA area policies related to substance misuse/prevention
      • Advocate for positive prevention policies both within the LSAA and at the state level
      • Coordinate SUD prevention efforts with prevention coordinator

    Required Experience:


    Bachelor’s degree in Health Promotion, Public Health, or other related field

    10 years’ supervisory experience working in SUD prevention preferred but may be a combination of supervisory and direct service.

    Experience working with the state’s SUD prevention system

    SAPST trained

    Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

    Public speaking and presentation skill

    Experience working with CTC coalitions

    Experience working with elected/high ranking officials

    Ability to Waive Coverage upon proof of other medical coverage

    Employees hired to work 40 hours per week may waive medical coverage and in lieu choose:

    $257.11 deposited per biweekly pay period into their 401(k) or 457 plan;

    OR

    $128.56 paid per biweekly pay period as taxable income. The amounts paid are on a sliding scale for those working less than 40 hours per week. (Proof of other medical insurance coverage must be provided to choose these options.)

    DENTAL INSURANCE

    UTAH RETIREMENT

    Utah Retirement Systems: (Effective on date of hire)

    Tier 1 – Employees hired before July 1, 2011, or newly hired employees who are transferring from another agency under Utah Retirement Systems. You must be employed at least 4 years with Weber Human Services, or a combination of Weber Human Services and another state agency, in order to be vested to receive your pension plan at retirement age. Weber Human Services contributes 18.47% per biweekly pay period towards URS pension plan.

    Tier 2 – Employees hired after July 1, 2011. Weber Human Services contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary between both plans: pension and 401(k). Pension contributions are based on the yearly pension contribution rate. Pension and employer contributions to your 401(k) are vested after four years.

    The following applies to both Tier 1 and Tier 2 retirement systems:

    An employee may also contribute through payroll deduction to a 401(k), 457, Roth or Traditional IRA.

    Weber Human Services will also match up to 1% of employee contribution towards 401(k)

    Upon termination, all money vested into your 401(k) becomes property of the employee
