Metallurgical Engineer jobs in Houston, TX

1. Qualification and certification of metallurgical laboratory activities. Adherence and qualify to established laboratory accreditation bodies such as AS9100, NADCAP and customer requirements.
2. Liaise with Metallurgy and Quality in regards to metallurgical traceability, testing, and specifications.
3. Process enhancement of Test Laboratory processes.
4. Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures. Bring problems to the attention of Managers, Supervisors, Group Leaders, Safety/Environmental Manager, or Director of Human Resources.
5. Follow daily Procedures and Protocols as set forth in job orientations and trainings.
6. Authorized to train procedures and techniques to operators, technicians and coworkers as required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics

1. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
2. Ability to work within established polices and rules.
3. Ability to work with fellow plant employees; Have good people skills. Have contact with all plant employees and senior management.
4. Ability to see opportunities for improvement and cost reduction in the daily operations.
5. Ability to communicate, plan, and implement all of the test laboratory related functions.
