Metallurgical Engineer designs and initiates processes for the manufacturing of metals from ores and for the operation of the related production equipment. Performs analysis and tests to aid in the development of new and improved metals and alloys as well as their applications to various products. Being a Metallurgical Engineer requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or related field. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Metallurgical Engineer work is closely managed. The primary functions include assisting in the design and development of inspections methods, including procedures, gauging, implementing technologies or programming. This employee works with Quality Control, Product Development and Manufacturing Departments in planning for quality and resolving quality problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Associate or Bachelor degree in Engineering and over one-year experience desired. High School Diploma or G.E.D and 3 years experience as a Quality Technician.
