Meteorologist investigates, integrates and analyzes meteorological data from a variety of sources, including surface and air stations, satellites, and radar to prepare reports and forecasts for public and other uses. Analyzes weather model guidance and issues specialized hazardous weather forecasts when warranted. Being a Meteorologist requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Meteorologist work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. Position Summary:
On-air weather anchors for The Weather Channel en Español have responsibility for presenting real-time and forecast weather information in Spanish to viewers across the United States from The Weather Channel Network studios in Atlanta, GA. In addition to on-air responsibilities, weather anchors may be required to use weather graphics systems to create weather graphics and/or weather hits to be used in their own presentations or those of other weather anchors.
