EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS NECESSARY: WWAY NEWS in beautiful, coastal southeastern North Carolina is looking for a Weekend Meteorologist/Reporter.
Primary responsibilities include producing a forecast-driven weathercast, developing new ways to showcase our Baron Lynx weather system and delivering the information on-air in a conversational and easy-to-understand style. You'll also need the ability to stay on top of developing/severe weather without always having direct supervision. Southeastern North Carolina experiences a wide range of weather, from ice and snow to hurricanes and other severe storms. A bachelor's degree in meteorology, Baron Lynx, ENPS and Edius experience are a plus.
In addition to weather knowledge, the ideal candidate must know how to develop story ideas, shoot, edit, write, and go live in the field. You’ll do all of them. You must also know how to engage viewers through social media.
