Description :
Responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance of power plant and all mechanical equipment in accordance with procedures, guidelines, and operating directives in effect.
Provides support services for all types of mechanical equipment and systems including, but not limited to : pumps, valves, blowers, compressors, turbines, piping systems and components, cooling towers, reduction gears, and system testing / troubleshooting.
Trains and guides less experienced maintenance personnel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned as needed)
Oversees electrical installation by third party contractors.
Provides technical guidance and direction to assigned personnel during completion of repairs, troubleshooting, and overhauls.
Provides technical guidance to Maintenance Supervisor, Sr. Maintenance Technician and / or Maintenance Manager.
Performs vibration analysis on rotating equipment.

3-4 years related power plant maintenance experience. Desired qualifications : Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical equipment, systems construction, capacities limitations, theories of operation and operating procedures.
Knowledge of plant design and equipment locations, valve configurations, and normal range of flows, temperatures, levels, etc, for common production levels.
Knowledge of complex electrical and automatic control systems. Safe use of tools, plant safety rules, probable causes of equipment and systems malfunctions.
LANGUAGE SKILLS - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions; procedure manuals;
prints and engineering data; interpret charts, graphs and gauge scales; troubleshoot equipment and system problems; and interface with others.
Have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate orally and in writing, use a radio, and be able to speak effectively before groups of people.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Have the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS - Valid California Driver's License
PHYSICAL DEMANDS - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
