Meter Reader is responsible for reading electric, gas, or water meters. Keeps track of their use by recording appropriate information. Being a Meter Reader inspects meters for damages or defects. Requires a high school diploma. Additionally, Meter Reader typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Meter Reader may require 0-1 year of general work experience. This entry level position in our Lancaster office is responsible for reading residential and commercial gas meters and recording readings using handheld computers vial walking and mobile routes. Meter readers also interact with customers to gain access to premises and answer questions as required while completing routine meter inspections and performing collections work. Company vehicle is provided.
