Do you have a passion for constructing safer communities and ensuring the reliable distribution of natural gas? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Pipefitter to join our dynamic team! As a gas technician, you will play a vital role in piping residential and commercial natural gas services, securing the flow from meters to existing fuel lines, and ensuring the safe operation of customer appliances. Gas Meter Relight Technician, you'll perform change-outs of existing gas utility meters and install gas module upgrades, as required, as well as shut down and relighting of gas appliances.

Responsibilities:

As a Gas Meter technician, you will contribute to the growth and security of our natural gas distribution network. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Safely and efficiently performing daily assigned tasks, adhering to the highest industry standards and guidelines.
• Operating in diverse environments, including public rights-of-way, private properties, commercial areas, and residential spaces, to ensure the uninterrupted flow of natural gas.
• Demonstrating exemplary care for company equipment and materials, maintaining cleanliness, and following proper storage protocols.
• Adhering to instructions and guidelines to promote a collaborative and cohesive work environment.

Skills and Experience:

Required:

• A minimum of 1 year of pipefitting/ plumbing experience or previous gas meter technician, reflecting your expertise in handling gas distribution projects.
• Successful completion of Operator Qualification Testing for Natural Gas work, demonstrating your commitment to safety and professionalism.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to shut down and relight gas appliances.
• The ability to identify hazardous conditions as it relates to gas appliances.
• Be proficient in gas appliance safeties and operations.
• Computer and smartphone literate
• Ability to read maps and navigate in congested areas.
• Independently manage time and workload to meet deadlines.
• Mechanically inclined and has experience with a variety of tools.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work with little or no supervision.
• This is a minimum 40-hour workweek with Saturdays considered inclement weather make-up days.
• Possession of a valid Driver's License and/or CDL, showcasing your ability to handle transportation needs efficiently.
• Physical strength to lift at least 100 lbs., proving your physical capability to handle the demands of the job.
• Flexibility to travel up to 50 miles from your home to our project sites.

Preferred:

• A High School Diploma or Vocational training in a closely related field, highlighting your dedication to continuous learning and professional growth.
• 1 – 2 years of working with natural gas.
• Mechanical inclination, demonstrating your aptitude for problem-solving and contributing to the efficiency of our operations.
