    Job Summary:

    The Community Lending Operations Manager (CLOM) position has the primary responsibility of overseeing the daily operations of the Community Lending (CL) department including the management and achievement of departmental goals, training of department staff, and oversees all reporting requirements. This position also serves as primary Community Lending Portfolio Manager and is responsible for all matters related to the CL loan portfolio, including processing loan payments and disbursement request, covenant compliance and tracking requirements. This is a hybrid position with three days in the office in Berea Kentucky, two days offsite.

    Essential Duties and Functions:

    Represents Fahe in the most positive manner with prospective, former and current Members, clients, suppliers and the communities served.  Interacts effectively with a diverse group of staff and customers of our services.

    Provides direct supervisory oversight of Community Lending’s lending pipeline, underwriting loan closing and loan portfolio. Manages a diverse staff comprised of both remote/in-person staff.

    Monitors staff performance to ensure department productivity levels are sufficient to meet  established goals.

    Performs day-to-day operations related to CL Loan Portfolio management.

    Assist the Vice President of Community Lending in establishing departmental goals that are measurable in terms of improved productivity, expense control, operating efficiency, with training, tracking and onboarding of new Loan Operations staff.

    Addresses elevated customer service issues related to loan operations and portfolio management.

    Tracks and monitors Community Lending loan origination pipeline to ensure activities are appropriate to support achievement of department lending goals.

    Maintains consistent dialogue with Community Lending Business Development Officer, Contract Underwriters, and Vice President of Community Lending to ensure quality of processing and origination is meeting expectations.

    Maintains relationships between Fahe and Third Party Vendors, Member Groups, Borrowers and other external partners.

    Ensures all post-closing processing requirements are completed in a timely manner, and all documentation is accurate and filed appropriately.  

    Ensures accuracy of fees collected and paid by reviewing Account Receivables and Payable forms and necessary paperwork to comply with finance requirements within required timeframe as needed.

    Maintains a working understanding of all loan products, services and lending capital.

    Performs other functions as necessary or as assigned by management.

    Requirements for this position include:

    The CLOM must have extensive working knowledge of loan operations, exceptional leadership and management skills, the ability to achieve departmental goals as defined by management, and assist in the formulation, recommendation and implementation of company operations policies, and a strong commitment to providing outstanding operational support services to both internal and external customers.

    Work effectively in a team environment and actively participate in joint problem solving:  willingness to cooperate with co-workers. Communicate courteously and effectively with others– deal with issues directly, in a respectful and timely manner, focus on resolving the issue while not criticizing the person.

    Quantitative – Critical Thinking, Analysis, Problem Solving, Planning, Research, Mathematical Skills, Organization, Detail Oriented, Organization, Employee’s consistency, productivity and timeliness in completion of work.

    Qualitative – Creativity, Versatility, Business Writing Skills and Basic Grammar, Prioritize multiple projects, Dealing with a diverse group of external and internal contacts at all levels, accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work; compliance with established work, health and safety rules.

    Basic administrative duties and knowledge of basic office equipment. Knowledge of federal housing programs, laws and regulations.

    Must be proficient in the use of Salesforce and Microsoft Office products software.

    Infrequent travel required.

    Preferred Education and Experience:

    2-3 Years’ Management experience in commercial lending as a Loan Manager, Loan Officer or a related field.

    Bachelor is preferred. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
