Middleware Engineer performs design, development, installation, tuning, and maintenance of middleware applications. Provisions platforms and infrastructure with middleware solutions. Being a Middleware Engineer analyzes requirements to implement effective middleware architecture, resolve technical issues, and optimize performance. Defines and documents technical designs and system configurations. Additionally, Middleware Engineer coordinates with application development and cross-functional technical teams to enable and support middleware integrations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, related field, or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Middleware Engineer works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge.   • Responsibilities:
    Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in cloud engineering space.
    Work with a team of developers with deep experience in bash and cloud concepts such as (EC2, EMR, Glue, ECS, Lambda, IAM, Security Groups, S3, etc.).
    Utilize programming languages like Python, Java and Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases and Cloud based data warehousing services such as Snowflake.
    Collaborate with Product owner and Tech lead to solve Business user questions on the data pipelines team supports and resolve infrastructure issues.

    Required Qualifications:
    Provides highly technical, ongoing support of Business Intelligence applications like Cognos and WebFOCUS.
    Directs the installation, upgrade, testing and maintenance of multiple server and network operating system environments.
    Directs installation and deployment of security patches across the server environment and ensures adherence to change control policies.
    Writes and coordinates technical standards and procedures.
    Directs the monitoring and tuning on a regular basis.
    Produces statistics on performance and is responsible for identifying and resolving performance problems.
    Conducts problem resolution. Performs research and testing to determine cause and makes necessary corrections.
    Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience with 6 to 9 years of relevant work experience.

    Responsibilities:
    Provides on-going multi-computer site support for Business Intelligence Software activities associated with the installation, upgrading, testing, and maintenance of IBM Cognos v10.2.2 and v11.2.4 software in a multiple server and multiple network operating system environments.
    Follows detailed work plans for both installation and continuing maintenance. Conducts tests and monitors new installations.
    Experience with TIBCO WebFOCUS a plus. Senior level position requires a seasoned professional with a full understanding of industry practices.
    Requires high level of experience and proficiency in field.

    Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge pertaining to concepts and principles in functional area. General knowledge of department/business lines, Client's, and / or System operations, policies, procedures and technologies.

    Communications: Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, creativity, attention to detail, and oral and written communications skills tailored for the intended audience.

    Risk Management: [The individual] is responsible for understanding and applying risk management discipline in decision making, and contributing to his or her function`s risk management.

    Decision Making: Works under direction and guidance in planning details of procedures and methods to attain definite objectives. Makes decisions within established or widely accepted standards. Achieves assigned/planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, training, business principles, and practical experience.
