Millwright maintains industrial machinery and equipment using hoists, lift trucks, hand and power tools. Moves, assembles, installs or dismantles machinery. Being a Millwright interprets schematic diagrams, blueprints, and sketches. Analyzes plans for new equipment and maps out space to unpack and assemble new equipment. Additionally, Millwright troubleshoots problems and repairs or replaces worn or broken parts as necessary. May use equipment like forklifts, aerial lifters, and cranes to move heavy or unwieldy machinery. May perform welding, fabrication, or calibration as needed. As a member of our mobile rock crushing plants, the Millwright reports to the Plant Crew Lead and is tasked with maintaining plant uptime, ensuring MSHA compliance, performing equipment inspections, and conducting welding, torching, and fabrication tasks. The Millwright also provides crucial services such as crusher cone maintenance and generator servicing. Collaboration with the Plant Crew Lead and other team members is essential to effectively address any issues that arise during the shift.
Essential Functions
1. Plant Uptime:
- Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and repair issues to maximize plant uptime and throughput.
- Implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency and minimize downtime, including shoveling and cleaning under belts or fixing leaks as needed.
2. MSHA Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal safety regulations, particularly those outlined by MSHA.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and implement corrective actions as necessary to maintain a safe working environment.
3. Equipment Inspection:
- Perform regular inspections on plant equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Identify and address any signs of wear or damage promptly to prevent equipment failure.
4. Welding, Torching, and Fabrication:
- Carry out welding, torching, and fabrication tasks as needed to repair or modify plant equipment and structures.
- Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards when performing welding and fabrication activities.
5. Crusher Cone and Generator Service:
- Provide maintenance services for crusher cones and generators, including daily and weekly air filter checks and replacements.
- Ensure that crusher cones and generators are functioning properly to support plant operations.
