Millwright maintains industrial machinery and equipment using hoists, lift trucks, hand and power tools. Moves, assembles, installs or dismantles machinery. Being a Millwright interprets schematic diagrams, blueprints, and sketches. Analyzes plans for new equipment and maps out space to unpack and assemble new equipment. Additionally, Millwright troubleshoots problems and repairs or replaces worn or broken parts as necessary. May use equipment like forklifts, aerial lifters, and cranes to move heavy or unwieldy machinery. May perform welding, fabrication, or calibration as needed. Follows all work site safety requirements and regulations. Typically requires a high school diploma. May require OSHA Forklift Operator Certification. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Millwright works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be a Millwright typically requires 1-3 years of related experience. Summary
Assembles, installs, aligns, maintains, repairs, troubleshoots, inspects, dismantles a variety of machinery, equipment, and boilers. Reads blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures. Assists in terminal maintenance and operational support. All types of preventive and reactive maintenance activities may be involved.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Perform all functions safely when complying with Terminal and Provincial rules, procedures, and policies.
· Recognize, set up, and operate hand tools, power tools common to the Millwright trade.
· Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery.
· Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery.
· Maintain and complete accurate filing and updating of all maintenance records including, but not limited to work orders, equipment preventive maintenance sheets, operations manuals, safety manuals, emergency response manuals, policies, and procedures.
· Create materials sheets, schedules, and plans for upcoming projects.
· Take a lead role on work assignments.
· Successful completion of all required personnel training including written and computer-based testing.
· Attend weekly safety meetings.
· Participate in ERT including Oil Spill Response.
· Must maintain a clean and safe work environment.
· Ensure reporting of all incidents and accidents immediately to Supervisor.
· Drive company vehicles in a safe and responsible manner to transport tools, equipment, and materials to and from different work areas on site.
· Must be willing to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
· Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
· High school diploma or approved equivalent.
· Additional Trades an asset.
· Strong reading, writing, communication and math skills including the ability to read procedures and perform arithmetic fun.
· Must be able to multi-task and manage multiple projects.
· Knowledge of Isometrics, P&ID’s, blueprints, diagrams, schematic drawings and manuals to assist in determining work procedures for completing tasks and projects.
· Must have valid driver’s license.
· Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the Oil/Gas Industry is preferred.
· Demonstrated knowledge of equipment and tools.
· Knowledge of petroleum products and industry terminology.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
· Must be able to obtain a TWIC card.
Working Conditions
Working conditions vary and employee may encounter vibration, noise, odors and extremes in temperature and wind as well as exposure to varied weather, varied surfaces, sharp edges, varied lighting and confined and congested areas. Occasionally exposed to petroleum - based products such as crude oil, gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil and grease as well as an array of other petroleum products and their by products
Physical Demands
· Ability to stand, sit, walk, and maintain balance for extensive periods of time.
· Ability to frequently lift up to 40 lbs. from floor to above shoulder and horizontally and carry objects up to 100 feet. Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
· Ability to perform repetitive tasks; climb (e.g., ladders and stairs, etc.), stretch, turn, twist, reach; bend, crouch, squat, kneel and stoop for extensive periods of time.
· Ability to use a variety of light to heavy tools necessary to conduct plant operations.
· Ability to operate crane and other equipment necessary for loading and unloading product.
· Ability to operate all types of company vehicles.
