Millwright maintains industrial machinery and equipment using hoists, lift trucks, hand and power tools. Moves, assembles, installs or dismantles machinery. Being a Millwright interprets schematic diagrams, blueprints, and sketches. Analyzes plans for new equipment and maps out space to unpack and assemble new equipment. Additionally, Millwright troubleshoots problems and repairs or replaces worn or broken parts as necessary. May use equipment like forklifts, aerial lifters, and cranes to move heavy or unwieldy machinery. May perform welding, fabrication, or calibration as needed. Follows all work site safety requirements and regulations. Typically requires a high school diploma. May require OSHA Forklift Operator Certification. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Millwright works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be a Millwright typically requires 1-3 years of related experience. SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
We are looking for a skilled Millwright who has experience with industrial or sawmill equipment maintenance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic/pneumatic systems, gears, reducers, bearings, sprockets, chains, belts, and valves.
· Cut, weld, and fabricate components as needed.
· Assist electricians and other maintenance personnel in performing other tasks as needed.
· Assist equipment operators as necessary and may provide operator relief for operation of process equipment.
· Assist with clean-up mill wide.
· Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and detailed repair drawings related to sawmill equipment and machinery.
· Dismantle equipment when required for repair and reassemble it at the appropriate time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must have a minimum of 3 years work experience as a Millwright.
· Maintenance experience in a Sawmill, Manufacturing, or other Industrial environment.
· Knowledge of sawmill equipment and machinery
· Efficient time-management skills
· Dedicated to safe work practices.
· Knowledge of mechanical equipment and processes.
· Strong problem-solving skills.
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
TESTING REQUIREMENTS:
· Must be able to pass mechanical knowledge test & hands on assessment.
· Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
