Millwright maintains industrial machinery and equipment using hoists, lift trucks, hand and power tools. Moves, assembles, installs or dismantles machinery. Being a Millwright interprets schematic diagrams, blueprints, and sketches. Analyzes plans for new equipment and maps out space to unpack and assemble new equipment. Additionally, Millwright troubleshoots problems and repairs or replaces worn or broken parts as necessary. May use equipment like forklifts, aerial lifters, and cranes to move heavy or unwieldy machinery. May perform welding, fabrication, or calibration as needed. Follows all work site safety requirements and regulations. Typically requires a high school diploma. May require OSHA Forklift Operator Certification. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Millwright works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be a Millwright typically requires 1-3 years of related experience.     • Repair and maintain industrial equipment conveying systems, and major machine centers
    • Able to read and understand drawings and printed instructions
    • Must be a self-starter who can work safely under high pressure situations
    • Understanding of preventive maintenance
    • Hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical troubleshooting
    • Good communication and documentation skills
    • Safe work habits
    • Use of hand and power tools
    • Operation of shop and maintenance related equipment
    • Understanding proper alignments of process equipment
    • Knowledge of rigging and material handling

    Skills & Qualifications

    • Must have high school diploma or GED
    • Must have a minimum 2 years verifiable work experience as a Millwright
    • Employee must be capable of performing skilled labor for up to 12 hours a day.
    • Must be dependable and operate with a high-level of integrity.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

    • This is a non-exempt position.
    • This position reports to a Foreman.
    • This position has no direct reports.

    Physical Requirements / Working Environment

    • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work vary (Monday - Sunday with some overnight work) and overtime is frequently required.
    • Working environment is often times in harsh elements (hot / humid and/or cold temperatures, rain, etc.) Industrial environments often have exposure to hazardous chemicals, moving heavy equipment, and other safety-sensitive hazards / risks. Must always be alert and able to safely perform the essential duties of the job without risking harm to oneself or others.
    • While performing the duties of this job, you will:
      • Frequently perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
      • Frequently use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, moving materials, and manipulating things.

    Other physical requirements include;

    • Static Strength - The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to (frequently - 25 pounds; routinely - 50 pounds).
    • Arm-Hand Steadiness - The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
    • Manual Dexterity - The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
    • Finger Dexterity - The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
    • Problem Sensitivity - The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
    • Extent Flexibility - The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.
    • Oral Comprehension - The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
    • Written Comprehension - The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
    • Rate Control - The ability to time your movements or the movement of a piece of equipment in anticipation of changes in the speed and/or direction of a moving object or scene.
    • Selective Attention - The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.
    • Trunk Strength - The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without 'giving out' or fatiguing.
