Millwright maintains industrial machinery and equipment using hoists, lift trucks, hand and power tools. Moves, assembles, installs or dismantles machinery. Being a Millwright interprets schematic diagrams, blueprints, and sketches. Analyzes plans for new equipment and maps out space to unpack and assemble new equipment. Additionally, Millwright troubleshoots problems and repairs or replaces worn or broken parts as necessary. May use equipment like forklifts, aerial lifters, and cranes to move heavy or unwieldy machinery. May perform welding, fabrication, or calibration as needed. Follows all work site safety requirements and regulations. Typically requires a high school diploma. May require OSHA Forklift Operator Certification. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Millwright works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be a Millwright typically requires 1-3 years of related experience. Summary:The Millwright is responsible for performing preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance to equipment, machines, and all associated support equipment at the yard location. This position will work closely with operations, maintenance, environmental, or some combination of all.Essential Job Functions:
- Able to troubleshoot and repair the following:Â electrical systems, hydraulic systems, various cylinders, valves, accumulators, and pumps.
- Install, dismantle, maintain, repair, reassemble, and move machinery.
- Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts to precise tolerances.
- Align and test equipment, and make any necessary adjustments.
- Perform predictive and operational procedures.
- Repair or replace defective parts.
- Must be willing and able to work with heavy equipment when needed.
- Perform assignments in a timely manner.
- Learn and work in accordance with company procedures and policies, as well as safety and environmental rules and guidelines.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.- Minimum 7-10 years maintenance experience, preferred.
- Able to troubleshoot and repair the following: electrical systems, hydraulic systems, various cylinders, valves, accumulators, and pumps.
- Able to work in a drug-free workplace.
- Knowledgeable in basic hand tools and proper use.
- Knowledgeable of the proper inspection, removal, installation, and alignment, and lubrication of bearings, gears, belts, conveyors, and chains.
- Must possess basic welding and burning skills.
- Must be comfortable working at heights.
- Strong analytical skills and theoretical background in mechanical systems.
- Industrial mill, shredder, or mining experience required.
- Excellent written, organization, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize.
- Work autonomously or act as an effective team member, exhibiting good interpersonal skills.
- Able to communicate effectively to team members as well as non-maintenance personnel.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Some computer skills are required.
Work Hours:- 40 hour work week, dayshift.
- Monday - Friday: 7 am - 4:30 pm.
- Saturdays: 6 am - 12 pm.
- Overtime may be scheduled to facilitate business and production needs.
