Legend Brands is growing and looking for talented, career-driven individuals to help us meet our exciting growth goals in the role of Manufacturing Engineer (ME) at our Burlington, WA location. The Manufacturing Engineer (ME) leads automation and process improvement projects to improve productivity, increase capacity, reduce cost and deliver world-class quality. The ME provides project engineering support to plant operations for new equipment and process introductions, tooling, quality, and safety improvements.
The ME works closely with all functional groups to develop robust, cost-effective manufacturing and assembly processes and related documentation. The ME drives continuous improvement and best practices by applying lean techniques to eliminate waste in the value stream. Creativity and latitude to accomplish objectives are necessary.
Job Requirements:
- Conceive, investigate, evaluate, and make recommendations for new equipment, tooling, and processes to improve safety, reliability, capacity and reduce cost.
- Develop and collect data to drive decision making including current and future state analyses, capital expense justifications and proposals.
- Manages capital equipment installations including coordination of equipment and tooling suppliers, installers, and internal resources across multiple geographic sites.
- Manage project schedules and tasks using Microsoft project or equivalent including development of work breakdown structures in collaboration with project teams and subsequent project management.
- Conduct off-line programming of industrial robots using RobotMaster software for robotic welding and other complex manufacturing applications.
- Design and coordinate fabrication of robotic weld fixtures, end of arm tooling and other integration work required to apply robotics in manufacturing operations.
- Analyze, develop, and recommend design approaches to meet production requirements for new or improved products and/or processes using a Design for Manufacturing (DMF) approach.
- Perform CAD/CAM tool design, fabrication and CNC programming of production parts using SolidWorks, MasterCam, CamWorks and RobotMaster software.
- Participate in "make/buy" decisions to determine the most cost-effective manufacturing solution.
- Provide project management and technical support for vendor offload programs to free-up internal manufacturing capacity while ensuring consistent quality and delivery.
Qualifications:
- Strong team player with leadership skills and ability to drive change and manage multiple priorities
- Confident, self-motivated, and communicative
- Manufacturing Engineering/Technology degree or equivalent work experience required plus 3-5 years minimum professional experience working in a manufacturing environment
- CAD solid modeling proficiency (Solidworks preferred)
- CAM programming experience such as MasterCam, CamWorks, RobotMaster or other off-line robot programming software
- Robotics integration experience and proficiency
- MS Office software proficiency
- ERP system experience with BOMs, Work Orders, MRP Planning, etc
- Metal fabrication, welding, plastics, assembly, electrical and chemical processing experience preferred
- Ability to travel up to 35% of the time
Hiring Range:
Between $72,700 - $85,500/annually
