Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise a team of mechanics and technicians
- Assign work orders and prioritize tasks to ensure efficient workflow
- Conduct inspections and diagnose mechanical issues on various vehicles and equipment, including tractors, trailers, and Caterpillar machinery
- Coordinate with parts department to order necessary supplies and ensure timely repairs
- Oversee vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Provide guidance and training to technicians on proper repair techniques
- Monitor shop productivity and implement process improvements as needed
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and inventory
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within a dealership or heavy equipment environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to diagnose complex issues
- Proficient in welding, fabrication, and other repair techniques
- Familiarity with transmission systems, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a team
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
