Barton County Feeders is seeking a Feedlot Maintenance Foreman for their feedlot located in Ellinwood, KS.

Position Overview: As the Feedlot Maintenance Foreman, you will play a vital role in maintaining the functionality and safety of our feedlot operations. You will be responsible for a range of essential tasks, including operating heavy equipment, performing pen maintenance, water tank cleaning, and ensuring the upkeep of our facilities. You will also be responsible for overseeing other team members on the maintenance crew.  Your expertise in equipment operation, maintenance, and repair will contribute to the overall success of our operations.    

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain heavy equipment for various maintenance tasks.
• Conduct routine pen maintenance to ensure the cleanliness and safety of the environment.
• Drain, clean, and maintain water tanks to ensure the health and well-being of livestock.
• Repair and clean feed bunks, including the possible use of heavy equipment with proper training.
• Install water lines, dig trenches, and perform related tasks to support efficient water supply.
• Carry out hot works, such as welding and fabrication, to address repair needs.
• Manage sprinkler and dewatering systems, ensuring proper operation and maintenance.
• Perform electrical maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping of the yard and buildings.
• Adhere to all OSHA and safety procedures, rules, and regulations to ensure a secure and safe working environment.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in maintenance, equipment operation, or related fields is advantageous.
• Previous experience in heavy equipment operation, maintenance, and repair.
• Proficiency in welding and fabrication techniques.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and maintenance.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to comply with OSHA and safety regulations at all times.
• Being bilingual in English/Spanish is required. 

The successful candidate for this position must be able to pass post offer employment testing.
