Mine Manager is responsible for the overall management of mining projects. Assists in staffing, outlining project plans, setting project goals/deadlines, and evaluating performance. Being a Mine Manager ensures the safety and health of mine workers. Recommends corrective action when problems are detected. Additionally, Mine Manager may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. May require certification by the MSHA. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Mine Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Located in Nevada, USA, Pumpkin Hollow has substantial reserves and resources including copper, gold, and silver. Its two fully permitted projects include the high-grade underground mine and processing facility, which is now in the production stage, and a large-scale open pit project, which is advancing towards feasibility status.
Purpose of the Position:
The Underground Mine Manager will be responsible to lead all aspects of the underground operations to meet all safety, production and cost targets, whilst ensuring that all mining and planning activities support and are driven by the short-, medium-, and long-term needs of the mine and fully aligned with the strategic goals and objectives of the business. This role will plan, organize and control the underground production, budget, costs, construction and other mining aspects to ensure delivery of production in a safe and environmental responsible manner. This role will engage with a variety of visitors, vendors, contractors, Nevada Copper employees, departments and is part of the leadership team that drives the business.

Work Schedule and Personal Protective Equipment:
The incumbent works a minimum of a 40 hour/week schedule and may require weekend or evening work depending on organizational and operational requirements. Personal Protective Equipment required for the field work portion of this position includes, but is not limited to, hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed boots. All equipment must be MSHA approved as applicable.
