Mine Manager is responsible for the overall management of mining projects. Assists in staffing, outlining project plans, setting project goals/deadlines, and evaluating performance. Being a Mine Manager ensures the safety and health of mine workers. Recommends corrective action when problems are detected. Additionally, Mine Manager may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. May require certification by the MSHA. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Mine Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Mine Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     SUMMARY
    Collects materials in the field following standardized sampling methods and/or prepares materials following standardized methods and/or conducts standardized physical and chemical tests on materials by performing the following duties.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Tests coal,or other materials for specific analytical qualities.

    Prepares coal or other materials for analytical processes.

    Collects samples of coal, or other materials as directed.

    Maintains analytical equipment, preparation equipment and sampling equipment as necessary to ensure adequate operation.

    Prepares data for reporting following established procedures.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
    High school diploma or general education degree (GED);

    LANGUAGE SKILLS
    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

    REASONING ABILITY
    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
    Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

    Pay: $12.00 - $17.50 per hour

    Expected hours: 36 – 48 per week
