Mine Manager is responsible for the overall management of mining projects. Assists in staffing, outlining project plans, setting project goals/deadlines, and evaluating performance. Being a Mine Manager ensures the safety and health of mine workers. Recommends corrective action when problems are detected. Additionally, Mine Manager may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. May require certification by the MSHA. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Mine Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Mine Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    The Mine Manager at American Gilsonite Company (AGC) plays a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of mining operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Operational Oversight: Lead all mining activities while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
    • Team Leadership: Build and manage a skilled mining team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
    • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute mining strategies that align with AGC's long term production plan.
    • Health and Safety: Prioritize the health and safety of all employees and stakeholders by implementing and enforcing rigorous safety protocols.
    • Regulatory Compliance: Stay up to date with safety regulations and standards, ensuring AGC's compliance. Drive MSHA regulatory compliance by ensuring a thorough familiarity with 30 CFR 46,47,48,56,57,58, 62 and 75.
    • Environmental Compliance: Create relationship with engineering group to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, minimizing the impact of mining operations on the surrounding ecosystem.
    • Resource Management: Manage equipment, materials, and resources efficiently to maximize production while controlling costs.
    • Stakeholder Relations: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, regulatory agencies, and local communities to maintain positive relationships and promote responsible mining practices.
    • Data Analysis: Analyze mining data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and areas of optimization.
