Mobile Applications Developer is responsible for developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining mobile applications. Troubleshoots system problems and issues and looks for ways to improve the application. Being a Mobile Applications Developer may require a bachelor's degree. Has knowledge of a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field (i.e., iOS, Android etc.). Additionally, Mobile Applications Developer typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. To be a Mobile Applications Developer typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience.   • The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies is looking for an Applications Software Developer to support our government customer remotely.

    DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assist in the development of the new US Forestry Service, Forest Health Assessment and Applied Sciences Team (FHAAST) Pest Event Reporter (PER) Application.
    • Assist with the design, development, and maintenance of the application through concept, design, testing and implementation phases.
    • Recommend technologies to support the new application
    • Work directly with the Business Analyst to understand system requirements and project timelines / schedule.
    • Accurately document all technology developments
    • Involved in testing of the new application.
    • Address system issues and work bug fixes.
    • Ability to work as a team member and independently.
    • Functions as technical expert
    • Create and maintain technical documentation
    • Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to software

    REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

    BS/BA in business or information service / information technology

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • 6-9 years related experience
    • Sharp critical thinking skills, strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to analyze spatial data, problem-solving skills.
    • Programming skills including ArcGIS, Microsoft Access and SQL Server databases, and GIS database design.
    • Ability to create and deploy geoprocessing, map, image, and feature services for use in GIS applications and desktop software.
    • Experience with UI / UX development.

    DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    Federal Government or DoD experience preferred

    REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:

    • Must be a U.S. Citizen
    • Must be able to complete a background investigation
