SBS seeks a Senior Software Developer to develop highly interactive web-based applications for an innovative cybersecurity company headquartered in Madison, SD. The primary focus of the development team is the web-based TRAC application.   Our team is proud of our people-focused culture and the opportunity to work on innovative projects for thousands of organizations throughout the U.S. You will be working to design, build, and maintain high-quality technology solutions for risk management while working in an Agile environment with a small team of skilled developers. The Sr. Software Developer develops specifications for moderately complex software programming applications and modifies/maintains the existing software. This role develops, modifies, and maintains applications that may be customized or standardized. They will work in a team environment with communication and cooperation with other developers and quality assurance personnel required daily. This position participates in design and coding activities with other personnel.

What to expect:

In this role, you will:

• Create detailed design, coding, code optimization, unit testing, and code deployment.

• Embrace the full software lifecycle: requirements gathering, analysis, solution design, development, code reviews, test automation, and implementation using Agile methodologies (Scrum, TDD, BDD).

• Review and provide feedback on other developers’ code.

• Help team solve difficult problems, learn from and mentor other developers.

• Review the designs of your peers, as well as fix bugs and troubleshoot operational issues.

• Produce detailed specifications and documentation. 

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering required

• Minimum of five years’ experience in software development

• Excellent analytical and organizational skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Familiarity working with relational Database

• Work collaboratively in a Scrum environment utilizing Agile tools i.e., JIRA

• Experience with programming languages and technologies, C#, Angular JS, SQL, JSON, or .Net.

• Experience with AI is strongly preferred

Additional Details 

• This is a remote, full-time position. 

• This role would require occasional travel. 

• While SBS does offer a flexible work environment, the standard days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CT. 

• On rare occasions, this position may require some after-work hours due to workload or a tight deadline.
