    The Cabinet Maker 3 is responsible for mastery-level knowledge in many areas of the production process utilizing woodwork machinery, tools, and assembly techniques. They have a high level of competency for custom work, require very little supervision, and typically lead teams particularly in the technical aspects of the work. 
     
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 
     
    General Duties and Responsibilities: 
    • Maintain accurate records of daily production hours, including correct number of hours, project number, and work order number; Ability to use time tracking computers. 
    • Clean and maintain products, machines, and work areas for cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and organization.  
    • Read and follow production cutlists, work orders, and shop travelers. 
    • Follow all safety, hazard, and lockout procedures. 
     
    Cabinetmaking Duties and Responsibilities: 
    • Read blueprints, drawings, or written specifications, and consult with designers and drafters to determine sizes and shapes of patterns and required machine setups. 
    • Ability to make cut lists. 
    • Establish the specifications of articles to be constructed, and plan the methods and operations for shaping and assembling parts, based on blueprints, drawings, diagrams, or instructions. 
    • Operate equipment and assemble necessary components to complete assigned project. 
    • Produce and assemble components of articles such as paneling, cabinets, doors, fixtures, and high-grade furniture. 
    • Verify dimensions and contours of models during hand-forming processes, using templates and measuring devices. 
    • Select wooden stock, determine layouts, and mark layouts of parts on stock, using precision equipment such as scribers, squares, and protractors. 
    • Plan, lay out, draw, and construct wooden models, sectional patterns, templates, full scale mock-ups, and molds for parts of products and production tools. 
    • Fabricate work aids such as scrapers or templates, and maintain pattern records for reference. 
    • Estimate the amounts, types, and costs of needed materials. 
    • May perform the responsibilities of Woodworker 1 and 2 and other duties as necessary.

    • Ability to maintain a sense of urgency and complete assigned tasks within deadlines. 
    • Consistent punctuality and attendance. 
    • Ability to match materials for color, grain, texture, knots and other features; Extensive hardwood, veneer, and panel knowledge. 
     
    Education And/Or Experience: 
    • High School diploma, General Education Degree (GED), or technical school degree/certificate preferred; greater than ten (10) years related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
    • Extensive knowledge of Woodworking and several years of working with experienced employees.  
     
    Language & Mathematical Skills: 
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.   
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.   
     
    Physical Demands: 
    • Frequent standing, walking, sitting 
    • Frequent bending at the waist and knees, climbing, kneeling, and crouching 
    • Frequent lifting/moving up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifting/moving up to 100 pounds 
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. 
     
    Work Environment: 
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outdoor weather conditions; extreme cold and heat. 
    • The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock.  
    • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to very loud.
