Model Drug is seeking a Part Time Pharmacy Technician in Pismo Beach.

Model Drug is an Independently owned and operated Long Term Care Pharmacy in Pismo Beach and the Central Valley since 1988.

Position Summary

Pharmacy Technicians have responsibility to type, fill prescriptions, and compound IV’s at times.

Position Requirements:

• California Pharmacy Technician License

Excellent phone & computer skills

• Must be able to work hours between 8am-9pm Monday – Friday & 11am-8pm Weekend rotation (Including Holidays)
• Knowledge of HIPAA compliance
• IV Compounding experience or willingness to be trained to do so
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
• Enters new and refill orders in a timely and accurate manner.
• Answer incoming customer calls
• Prioritize and respond appropriately
• Direct to appropriate team member to ensure best service possible
• Calculates and/or verifies the correct dosage based on the prescription
• Maintain required documentation for tracking and researching orders.
• Understand Medicare Policy and Co-Pay requirements/guidelines.
• Assist team members/department as needed in order to meet workflow deadlines and/or complete miscellaneous projects

Physical Demands:

• You may sit, stand, bend and walk intermittently seven (4) to ten (10) hours per day.
• May be necessary to work extended hours as needed.
• May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion.

• Rotating weekends

• Pharmacy Technician License (Required)
