FLSA Status: Non-exempt Reports to: Sports Director

DUTIES:

• Ensure the health, safety and well-being of participants in the gym and nearby spaces, by providing close

supervision of all activities and ensuring spaces are clean and supplies are well maintained.

• Maintain cleanliness and order in the gymnasium.

• Monitor gymnasium to ensure compliance with Y policies and procedures.

• Provide orientation and instruction on proper usage of sports equipment to members and guests.

• Understand the basic sports principles and be aware of current sports programs and trends.

• Assist members in sports programming and open play; Monitor games and free play.

• Provide a positive experience to all members and guests.

• Provide members with opportunities that will increase their involvement, sense of belonging, and ownership

of the Y.

• Complete incident reports within 24 hours. Report incidents to supervisor.

• Actively participate in training sessions, designated meetings, and special events, as appropriate.

• Other activities and duties as needed that address the ongoing health and well-being of our staff and

members.

• Follow and maintain sanitary habits in accordance with CDC guidelines.

• Part-time position. 5-15 hours/week.

• Shifts: 4-8pm M-F / 1-5pm Sa-Su

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• Experience working in sports environment.

• Excellent customer service skills.

• Extra consideration given to those willing to assist with youth sports programs.

motions, talk, hear and have visual acuity.

• The work is performed both indoors and out, and may require travel to various locations.

• While performing the duties of this job the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the

time.
