During your 8 week orientation, you will receive all of the necessary training to ensure your success in this role. We are seeking candidates who have an interest and some education in biology, anatomy or physiology, some background in the medical field, and have a high attention to detail with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. This is a role that requires you to remain static for long periods of time while maintaining a strong focus on the work in front of you combined with the necessity to jump in to action quickly when needed. This is a full-time, 36-hour per week position working 3 rotating 12-hour shifts over 7 days a week. We offer shift differentials for evening shifts (10%), night shifts (20%) and weekend shifts (15%). We can work with your schedule to find shifts that suit you.
The Central Monitor Technician at Dartmouth-Hitchcock is responsible for surveillance of telemetry cardiac rhythm and patient safety surveillance. As a technician, you will serve as an integral member of the patient care team. The Technician provides real time virtual safety surveillance on patients that have been identified as requiring visual monitoring per policy and procedure and as supervised by a Registered Nurse. On the job training, including rhythm interpretation classes will be part of the onboarding process.
