Mental Health Technician / Night Monitor
We are looking for a positive and responsible Night Monitor with sound judgment to join our team. A night monitor will ensure a safe learning environment for our clients. Will be working alongside a coworker and sometimes will work independently. Will work closely with counselors and supervisory team. The environment is a residential facility for youth & adolescents.

- Encourage development of positive small group dynamics by engaging in client group activities or discussion; allowing and facilitating peer interaction.
- Assist in facilitating therapies (individual/group/multi-family/in-home) if you meet qualifications and complete the required documentation.
[Supervision & Safety]
- Monitor the safety & security of the program & participants by completing rounds & observations.
- Immediately report suspected neglect, abuse, or violent behavior to the supervisor.
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with program participants.
- Always maintain sight of clients per programing requirements.
- Physical ability to employ verbal & physical aggression control techniques after being certified (physical motion).
- Utilize fair and appropriate consequences as a means of extinguishing negative client behaviors.
- Administer, document, and ensure proper storage of medication (if certified to do so.)
[Facility Maintenance]
- Sanitize workspace and do laundry.

Qualifications:
GED or High School Diploma.
Leadership skills to work effectively as part of the treatment team.
Strong characteristics to provide a positive role model for children & adolescents.
Knowledge of Microsoft word & ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
Knowledge of Alaska’s childcare regulations.
Current Alaska’s driver’s license, good driving record & vehicle insurance.
No criminal convictions that adversely affect the employee’s ability to work safely with children; contingent on fingerprint or background check.
Current First Aid and CPR certifications.
