Summer Food Service Program Monitor
Part-time – Seasonal Position (Summer Months)
$12.50 per hour
The SFSP monitor will be responsible for:
· Contacting all sites prior to program beginning to verify site information
· Preparing all site files prior to program beginning
· Assisting with the reconciliation of meal counts on a weekly basis
· Scheduling site visits in accordance to policy and as needed when issues arise
· Checking site operations to make sure that the sites maintain adequate records and that the program is operating in accordance with program rules and regulations
· Conducting site training as necessary, including training on nondiscrimination policy
· Conducting pre-operational visits for new and problematic sites
· Visiting all new sites within the first week of operation to ensure that the food service is operating smoothly and that any needed adjustments are made or issues resolved
· Reviewing food service operations of all assigned sites within the first 4 weeks of operation to thoroughly examine the meal service from start to finish, correcting issues and providing additional training where necessary; one week programs must be visited no later than their second day of operation to avoid major problems
· Revisiting sites as necessary
· Reconciling any discrepancies in meal counts and records with the site supervisor
· Suggesting corrective action to the site supervisor for issues encountered
· Preparing reports on a weekly basis of your site visits and reviewing and ensuring that copies of the reports are included in an official file for each site
· Informing the sponsor about issues found at a site and ensuring that corrective action is completed and documented.
The SFSP monitor must possess:
· Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
· Bookkeeping and organizational skills
· Skilled in Excel software and other software programs
Must also have a Tennessee Driver’s License and ability to be insured under standard insurance rates.
