Monitor Technician examines heartbeat patterns on electrocardiograph monitors. Makes note of irregular rhythms and monitors changes in heartbeat. Being a Monitor Technician provides notes to medical staff in charge of the patient. Ensures that monitors are functioning properly. Additionally, Monitor Technician may require an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Monitor Technician works under moderate supervision.     The work you do as a Monitor Technician makes a tremendous impact on our patients! You'd be responsible for assisting in patient care delivery by observing cardiac monitors and identifying EKG rhythms, interpreting changes in EKG rhythms, identifying EKG dysrhythmias and reporting such information completely and accurately to nursing staff.

As a Mental Health Tech, you'll partner with Psych Nurses to assure safe and quality nursing care in accordance with approved policies, procedures and schedules. In our psych unit of 20 beds at Bryn Mawr Hospital, you will assist patients with their daily living, take vital signs, observe patients’ behaviors, plan patient activities and/or support groups and respond to crisis situations in a timely, effective manner. You will be skilled in prevention strategies to avoid crisis and problems that arise for your patients. The work you do makes a tremendous impact

You are encouraged to attend MLH Education & Development Classes that offer a variety of relevant  courses, tools, and resources to help achieve your personal and professional goals. On-going feedback and career development are provided by your Manager through the use of performance appraisals and 1:1 communication to further develop yourself professionally. 

     

    Be one of the many MLH Mental Health Techs who further their education by taking advantage of our Tuition Reimbursement Program! Positions are eligible for up to $6,000 annually based on FTE status/Position.

    Experience

    Preferred one year minimum

     

    Education

    High School or GED equivalent.
    Preferred: completion of technical cardiovascular program.

     

    Licensures & Certifications

    Preferred Monitor Tech certification 

    Not certified? We can help with that! By applying to a part time or full time benefit eligible position, working at least 24 hours per week, you are eligible for our tuition reimbursement program!
